Capt. Munanie Mbatha

Captain Munanie Mbatha graduated from the United States International University with a Bachelor of Science (cum laude) in Information Systems and Technology.

She had a brief tenure at Standard Chartered Bank and at Safaricom Ltd before shifting gears to become a commercial airline pilot first at RwandAir and later, at Jambojet. More recently, she qualified as a commercial helicopter pilot and instructor (Florida).

As an executive committee member of the National Council of Women of Kenya, Munanie is passionate about women’s rights, causes and welfare. She is involved in various non-profit organizations both within the world of aviation as well as without and was appointed a member of the Tobacco Control Board on the 13th of July 2022.

In her spare time, Munanie enjoys travelling, singing and swimming.
